How much do desktop pull-up banners cost?
How long is a piece of string...
Well, it's best to be honest right?!
However, in all seriousness, there are quite a few different options when it comes to choosing a pull-up banner for your business and they can alter the quotation quite considerably. Below, we have gone through the most common factors that will affect the price of your pull-up banner quotation so that you are totally informed on what might work best for your business and budget.
Pull-up banner Material
There are typically two different materials user for pull-up banner printing, but there really should only be one we feel! The one that, thankfully, is pretty rarely used is the standard vinyl, and whilst this is "ok", it has a lot of drawbacks, the main one being that it can let through light especially when you have a lot of "white space" in your design. This can prove to be a nightmare if your stand it located near a window for example or it is very close to a ceiling light. As a guide, since we started in 2009 we have never stocked this vinyl, but want to make you aware for when you are comparing quotes. If you see a banner for £20 online, it more than likely is made with this vinyl - our advice... steer clear!
We have seen many banners use the cheaper vinyl outlined in the paragraph above that when it is positioned near light, you can hardly see any of the text or important part of the design on there.
The main vinyl, and most popular is what is know in the trade as grey-back material. This has exactly what it's name suggests...a grey-back, or basically a grey backing on the main vinyl. Not only does this add to the quality feel of the banner, but it reduces any light that can get through it to pretty much zero which means your design will always stand out.
Pull-up banner Lamination
This in truth is very rarely used but you can have a laminate applied to the vinyl to protect it from getting damaged. In the grand scheme of things, it is not used very much as it can be quite expensive plus many people use their banners for 1 of the following reasons:
- a one-off event, so if it gets damaged, whilst it's mildly irritating, it's not the end of the world as it probably won't get used again.
- they use it every now and again, which normally means it is looked after slightly more, but by the time it needs replacing their business will have developed and grown so they would probably want an adjustment in what is on there anyway.
- they use it very regularly and over time with general wear and tear it does need replacing. However, with using it so much, the client is hopefully getting that much of a return on investment that they don't mind paying out for a new one as they too, referring to point 2 above, will have developed so want to make design changes anyway.
Pull-up banner sizes
Depending on which company you go with will depend on their individual sizes, but typically the most popular sizes for desktop pull-banners are either A3 (297x420mm) or A4 (210x297mm).

Do you have artwork/design or do you need it created?
This will be another factor of the overall price whether you use that company to create your artwork or another design company. Again like anything, this can vary greatly depending on which company you use and where you are based in the country too. You can, of course, create your own artwork, save it as pdf and pass it onto the print company too who will print straight from it. Some may charge a small "file checking" fee. We are open and transparent that we do charge for artwork as a one-off fee, where you have some of the best designers and marketers creating your desktop pull-up banner (or pull-up banners). We will also happily check your own supplied files free of charge and have templates for you to download or that we can send you.
How quickly do you want them?
This is the last factor in how much your desktop pull-up banner will cost because many print companies will be set up for either a fast or slow operation due to the machinery they have and also limited by capacity. Some printing machines just can't do fast turnaround and others are brilliant at it. Depending on the size of the company and machines will determine when they can get them out to you and will charge a premium for the quicker it is. Some will also have various price points for if you want it next day, in 5 days or 10 days and this will all impact on the price. With us being the largest capacity design and print company in the UK you can be rest assured that we can deliver your desktop pull-up banner whenever you need them as all our machines here at our main production hub are constantly running and ready. Banners that are ordered here before 11:45am will be produced and dispatched the same day to be with you the following working day and there are also weekend pre-9, pre-10:30 upgrades available too.
